TOOL · IMAGE EDITOR

This is where a product photo becomes a configurable product

Print areas, centroids, layers and vector shapes per SKU and per variant.

Che cos'è

Di che cosa si tratta

Image Editor is the tool that makes an ordinary product photo fit for logo visualisation. Per article and per variant you draw the print area — the zone where a logo may go — and you place the centroids a logo is aligned to. The tool also makes the vector shape of the product, removes the background and builds the layers needed for products with several sides.

Without that work Magic Logo has nothing to show, because putting a logo on a photo without an area and without a centroid produces a picture, not a proof. This is the handwork behind the 14,952 prepared products and the 11,501 configurations: once per article, and then it stays.

The person preparing the catalogue for logo visualisation, and producers who want to make their own articles fit. Not for the daily user: this is setup work done once per article.

Che cosa ha in casa con questo:

Print areas definiëren per SKU/variant
Extra centroids toevoegen (positioneringspunten)
SVG generatie voor vectorformaten
Achtergronden verwijderen
Layers maken voor complexe producten
Foto's toevoegen aan producten

Measurements matter more here than the image. An area in pixels looks fine on screen and is off in the print shop; an area in real millimetres is not. That is why the tool works from the actual product dimensions.

Drawing print areas on the photo

Per SKU and per variant, linked to the article in the PIM, in real millimetres and not in pixels.

Placing centroids

Extra anchor points a logo aligns to, so a logo sits in the middle of the bottle and not in the middle of the photo.

Making vector shapes

The shape of the product as a vector file, needed for a sharp preview at any size and for the proof.

Removing backgrounds

Directly in the tool, so the product can stand cut out on any surface without a detour through a second program.

Building layers

Front, back, side and lid as separate layers, so a customer can place the logo in several spots in one configuration.

Adding photos per variant

The right photo with the right colour, because a blue bottle with a black photo is a complaint you do not want.

The configuration you make here is exactly what Magic Logo uses to place a logo and produce a proof. The print areas are linked to the techniques from the PIM, with their maximum sizes and their tiers, so an area is not only visually right but technically right. Image Browser manages the article data you work on here.

PDF Editor does the same work from the other end: it extracts areas from a supplier PDF instead of drawing them by hand. In practice you use both, and what comes out lands in the same technique rules in the PIM.

Print areas koppelen aan technieken
Centroids bepalen logo-middelpunt
SVGs voor vectoriële preview
Layers voor voor/achter/mouw etc.

Send us ten articles and we will set them up

You will see what it costs per article and how the result works out in Magic Logo. Ten articles is enough to show the difference between a simple shape and a product with a lid, a strap or a curved surface.

After that you know what a full setup of your assortment amounts to, and you can decide whether to do it yourself or leave it with us.
