The line drawing from the PDF becomes a print area with millimetres
Digitising products: convert the drawing, attach the technique, calculate the dimensions. Plus the B2B documents that come out of it.

What this is about
Suppliers often deliver decoration information as a PDF with a line drawing: the contours of the product with the print areas in it. Usable for a human, unusable for a system. PDF Editor extracts that drawing, attaches the right technique and calculates the size of the print area from the actual product dimensions, so the area is not only visually right but technically right.
That last part is exactly where it goes wrong when someone does it by hand. A drawing that looks fine but was laid out at a different scale gives a print area that is millimetres off — and you find that out at the first production run. This tool also produces the B2B documents: quotes, orders and invoices, with the company details from the CMS in the header and footer.
PDF Editor automatically generates branded documents for your business. From quotations to invoices, from product sheets to shipping labels — consistent, professional, automatic.
Migrating products to the system? PDF Editor converts supplier PDFs to structured product data.
Who we built this for
Companies digitising a new supplier or their own assortment, and producers who want their print data in order before it goes to the trade. In short: anyone who needs print areas a system can read.
What you get with it:
What actually happens
The conversion has three steps that can each go wrong separately: extracting the drawing, attaching the technique and calculating the size. We have kept them separate and measurable, so you can see per article which step is still outstanding.
Extracting line drawings from PDFs
The contour and the print areas from the supplier PDF, instead of redrawing them on a photo.
Attaching the right technique
The area to screen print, pad print, engraving, embroidery or digital, with the matching rules, maxima and tiers.
Calculating dimensions from product measurements
The print area gets its size in millimetres based on the actual dimensions of the product, not on the scale of the drawing.
Aligning visual and technical
What the customer sees on screen is what fits. That is the difference between a proof and a picture.
Generating B2B documents
Quotes, orders and invoices, with the company details from the CMS in the header and footer, so you maintain those once.
Working in sequence
The PDFs arriving here have first been sorted and approved in PDF Browser, so no rejected drawing gets through.
From PDF to production-ready

Technique Linker
Link drawings to the correct print technique.
Dimension Calculator
Calculate print area from product dimensions.
Document Generator
Generate orders, quotes, and invoices.
How it fits with the rest
PDF Editor fills the technique rules in the PIM, which Magic Logo relies on and with which the quote module calculates decoration. Image Editor does the same work by hand on a photo; PDF Editor does it from the supplier's source. PDF Browser is the queue in front of it.
Why this step needs care we know from our own work: during a check at a client, part of the products turned out to sit too small in the drawing because the original PDF had a different scale than the drawing area. That was corrected with a script and is being reviewed article by article. We would rather say so than have you find it on a proof that just does not fit.
What it delivers:
Send us one supplier PDF and you get the print area back
We convert the drawing, attach the technique and calculate the size from the product dimensions. You get the area back with the millimetres, so you can check it against what your printer works with.
Have a whole supplier ready? Then we make a count: how many drawings are usable, how many need a better version and how much work is left.
